COVID-19: Oman registers 1,318 new cases Sunday, total now 56,015

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,318 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Sunday, July 12], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 56,015, while 843 new recoveries bring the total number of patients in the country who are now virus-free to 36,098

Of the new cases announced today, 1,009 are among Omani citizens and 309 are among non-Omani residents. 

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 257 with 9 new deaths announced today, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman stands at 525, with 143 in ICU.

As of today, a total of 3,570 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the Sultanate in the last 24 hours.
