COVID-19: Oman records highest daily tally in new cases at 1,404, total now 23,481

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,404 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate — the highest daily total yet.

In a statement issued online today [Sunday, June 14] the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 23,481.

Of the 1,404 new cases announced today, 400 are among Omani citizens and 1,004 are among non-Omani residents. The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 recoveries in the Sultanate has risen to 8,454 with 104 deaths recorded thus far.

As per the Ministry, there are currently 313 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Oman, with 100 of them in intensive care. A total of 3,596 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the country over the last 24 hours.
