COVID-19 Oman: New recoveries surpass new cases 1,854 to 1,262 on Tuesday

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,262 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate, while the number of daily recoveries have surpassed that figure by 1,854.

In a statement issued online today [Tuesday, July 7], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 48,997, while total recoveries have now reached 31,000.

Of the new cases announced today, 968 are among Omani citizens and 294 are among non-Omani residents. 

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 224 with 6 new deaths announced today, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman stands at 464, with 127 in ICU.

Currently, there have been a total of 4,007 COVID-19 tests carried out in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people tested in the Sultanate to 217,194.
