COVID-19 Oman: 290 new cases and 7 fatalities recorded Saturday

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 290 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Saturday, August 8], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 81,357.

Of the 290 new cases announced today, 231 are among Omani citizens and 59 are among non-Omani residents. The number of new COVID-19 recoveries announced today is 1,218, bringing the total number of patients in the Sultanate who are now coronavirus-free to 73,481.

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 509 with 7 new deaths announced today, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman is currently at 494, with 173 in ICU.
