COVID-19: Muttrah records just 27 new cases Monday; total in Seeb crosses 10,700

As Oman records 1,557 new COVID-19 cases today [Monday, July 6], the national total now stands at 47,735 as per the Ministry of Health (MoH). Of these, Muscat Governorate recorded 453 new cases today, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the capital to 29,818.

With Seeb nearing the 11,000 mark at 10,761 total cases, the Wilayat remains the hardest-hit in the governorate with 171 new cases recorded today. Cases in Bausher have also crossed the 8,000 mark, with 92 new cases bringing the total in the Wilayat to 8,040. Muttrah recorded the lowest number of new cases among the Wilayats on Monday, recording just 27 new cases for a total of 7,648.

Authorities at the MoH have confirmed that COVID-19 recoveries in the Sultanate have risen to 29,146, with 1,229 new recoveries announced today, along with 5 new fatalities that bring the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the Sultanate to 218.
