COVID-19: Muscat Governorate records over 1,000 new cases on Monday

As Oman records 1,605 new COVID-19 cases today [Monday, June 22] in the largest single-day spike to date, 1,002 of them have been registered in Muscat Governorate.

With the total number of coronavirus cases in the country now standing at 31,076, the number of cases in the capital has now reached 22,160.

As of today, Seeb saw the highest daily tally of cases with 390 new cases bringing the total in the Wilayat to 7,601. This was followed by the Wilayat of Bausher which recorded 359 new cases on Monday for a total of 6,105, and the Wilayat of Muttrah with 135 new cases bringing its total today to 6,509.

Authorities at the Ministry of Health have confirmed that COVID-19 recoveries in the Sultanate have also risen to 16,408, with 856 new recoveries announced. Six new fatalities today also saw the country’s COVID-19 death toll rise to 137.
