Lockdown in the Muttrah Souq area will be lifted from Sunday, June 14, though the souq market will remain closed along with all nearby shops, Oman’s Supreme Committee for COVID-19 has announced during its 10th press conference held this morning [Thursday, June 11.]

The Supreme Committee also emphasized that sanitary isolation is still imposed in parts of Hamriya and the Wadi Kabir Industrial Area also remains closed.
As of Sunday, the remaining lists of businesses and commercial activities permitted to operate by the Supreme Committee amid COVID-19 precautions will be allowed to re-open in the Wilayat of Muttrah from 7:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. — except for in the three locations mentioned above.
Shops in the Ruwi Souq will also be ordered to remain closed during weekends.
