COVID-19: India, Pakistan operate flights to repatriate stranded nationals in Oman today

The Indian Embassy in Oman has confirmed that check-in for passengers has begun at Muscat International Airport for Air India Express flight IX 1238 bound for Mumbai.

In a statement issued online, the Embassy wished all passengers a safe journey aboard the flight, which is scheduled to depart this afternoon [Tuesday, June 16].

The flight falls under the Republic’s Vande Bharat mission to repatriate its nationals abroad, with 23 departures scheduled from Oman between June 9-30.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Oman has also stated that Pakistan International Airlines operated a flight from Muscat this morning carrying 140 stranded citizens to Multan.

Embassy officials were on-hand at Muscat International Airport to see passengers off and thanked the governments of Oman and Pakistan, as well as airline officials for assisting in smooth repatriation efforts.
