COVID-19: Fines for not wearing face-masks in Oman now OMR 100

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) have issued a new decision to surrounding the fines for violating the Supreme Committee’s decisions regarding preventive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Lt. Gen Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of the ROP issued an amendment today [Sunday, July 19], to the fine for not wearing face-masks in public, increasing the penalty from OMR 20 to OMR 100, reports Merge 104.8’s sister station Al Wisal.

As per the amendment, the new fine is applicable to all commercial activity locations and industrial locations, public and private sector workplaces, public transportation, and other public locations.

The decision is to be implemented with immediate effect.
