Oman’s COVID-19 field hospital will open by September-end or early October, according to His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health.
“The hospital aims at reducing the burden on other public hospitals and will be equipped with 312 beds to treat medium cases of COVID-19,” Al Hosni said, adding that the first phase of the hospital will have 100 beds.
COVID-19 patients can be referred to the field hospital, which is located in the old airport building in Al Seeb.
Al Hosni explained that patients who need to be placed in an ICU will be sent to a central hospital to get further treatment.
