While Muscat Governorate is home to the vast majority of cases out of all governorates — with a total of 29,366 confirmed as of today, the remaining governorates share 16,812 cases between them.

As per inferences from the latest data on the Tarassud Plus app — Oman’s intuitive mobile app that tracks COVID-19 cases in the country per governorate and by Wilayat, North Al Batinah is the second most-affected governorate with a total of 4,813 cases, followed by South Al Batinah which, as of today, has 4,306 cases.

In South Al Batinah, Barka — the Wilayat in closest proximity to the Muscat city limits — has now crossed 2,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus, marking 2,011 on Sunday.

Following these with the next highest number of total cases is Al Dhakiliyah with 2,252 total cases, Al Wusta Governorate with 1,271, South Ash Sharqiyah with 1,061, Dhofar with 1,090, and North Ash Sharqiyah with 882.

After seeing a surge in cases last week, Dhofar witnessed a drop in its daily tally today with just three new cases registered in the governorate.

The governorates that currently have the lowest numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases are Al Dhahirah with a total of 598, Al Buraimi with 516 total cases, and Musandam with 23 cases in total.
