COVID-19 cases in Oman cross 50,000 on Wednesday

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,210 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate, while the number of daily recoveries is 1,005.

In a statement issued online today [Wednesday, July 8], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 50,207 while total recoveries have now reached 32,005.

Of the new cases announced today, 939 are among Omani citizens and 271 are among non-Omani residents. 

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 233 with 9 new deaths announced today, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman stands at 469, with 187 in ICU.
