The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued administrative fines to 34 expatriates on charges of gathering to play cricket.

In a statement issued online on Sunday [May 24], ROP officials said the group was playing the sport in the Al Ansab area, a gathering which constitutes a violation of the Supreme Committee for COVID-19’s health and safety directives.
As per the ROP, taking part in a gathering is a violation which carries a fine of OMR 100. However, organizing a gathering can see violators facing fines of up to OMR 1,500.
