COVID-19: 15 flights repatriate Indian nationals from Oman in a single day

The Indian Embassy in Oman has confirmed that a total of 15 repatriation flights carrying stranded Indian nationals from the Sultanate departed Muscat on Friday [June 19].

In a statement issued online, the Embassy confirmed that two of the flights fell under the auspices of the Republic’s global Vande Bharat mission to repatriate its nationals abroad.

As per the Embassy, yesterday, Air India Express flight IX 1442 bound for Kochi, and IndiGo flight 6E 9211 to Goa took off from Muscat International Airport, while 13 additional chartered flights carrying Indian nationals home also departed Friday.

India has scheduled 23 flights from Oman under its Vande Bharat mission between June 9-30, with the next departure to Kochi, Kerala set to take off from Muscat tomorrow [Sunday, June 21.]
