COVID-19: 1,142 new cases registered in Oman, total now 33,536

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,142 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Wednesday, June 24], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 33,536.

Of the 1,142 new cases announced today, 671 are among Omani citizens and 471 are among non-Omani residents. The number of new COVID-19 recoveries announced today is 693, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Sultanate to 17,972.

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 142, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman has risen to 417, with 100 in ICU.

A total of 3,585 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country in the last 24 hours.
