Checkpoints To Be Installed Between Governorates And Wilayat During Night Lockdown

The ROP announced that security checkpoints will be installed between governorates and wilayat during the night lockdown, which starts from Sunday, March 28 between 8 PM until 5 PM and ends on April 8.

An ROP representative reminded establishments to be considerate of their employees in terms of setting working hours that would allow them to make it home by curfew.

The ROP also released a list of groups who are exempted from the curfew, including: 

  • Travelers who are arriving from or to the airport, provided that they carry their travel ticket with them. Only one person is allowed to transport travelers.
  • Trucks of three tons and above, 
  • Water tanks
  • Tanks for transporting sewage water 
  • Work in factories (employees aren’t allowed outside the factory during the curfew period)
  • Unloading and loading operations in factories and warehouses (employees aren’t allowed outside the factory during the curfew period)
  • fuel stations on a shift system (in coordination with Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment)
  • Oil fields
  • Employees of public and private press and media institutions, whose work requires attending these institutions during the curfew period (Ministry of Information will provide them with a license).
