CAA Issues Heavy Rain Alert for Parts of Oman

The Civil Aviation Authority warned that heavy rains are expected today in parts of Oman, including in South al Sharqiyah, North al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and parts of Muscat.

The air trough is expected to continue until Friday, and the effects include:

  • Heavy rainfall of between 20-60 mm.
  • The flowing of wadis
  • Strong winds with a speed of between 28-90 km/h
  • Poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershowers.

Officials warned people to avoid venturing into wadis or crossing low-lying areas.
