His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a Royal Decree on Wednesday [August 12] to establish the University of Technology and Applied Science.
The Royal Decree stated that the new university, to be located in Muscat Governorate, will enjoy financial and administrative independency, and Said bin Hamad Al Rabai has been appointed as its chancellor.
Academic and education staff from a number of colleges will be transferred to the new university.
