Breaking News: Vaccinations Mandatory for Entry to Malls and Restaurants

The Supreme Committee issued several new decisions today:
- The closure of commercial activities and movement ban will end on the evening of Saturday, August 21st.
- The Ministry of Education will announce the mechanism for students’ return to schools for the academic year 2021/2022, under a general framework which will have a strong emphasis on the adherence to Coronavirus precautionary measures.
- Starting from September 1st, 2021, vaccinations will be mandatory for entry to all government and private establishments, including malls, restaurants and other commercial activities. The attendance of sports and cultural events, or any other public gathering of the sort, will also require proof of vaccination. All government and private institutions will be held responsible for the implementation of this decision.
- Starting from September 1st, 2021, entry to the Sultanate (for those under 18) through land, sea, or air borders will be restricted to those who are fully vaccinated with vaccines that are approved in the Sultanate. They will still be required to show a negative PCR result, from a test taken before or upon entry to Oman, and adhere to a 7-day quarantine, with another test taken on day 8.
