The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) issued a statement, saying that as of 2 am last night, electricity has been restored to all affected areas.
The authority also said that it has started a detailed investigation with licensed companies to figure out what led to the outage, and it added that preliminary evidence points to a technical failure in the main line and the backup line between the Ibri and Al Nahida stations, which in turn, led to a series of successive interruptions.
The Ministry of Education also issued a statement regarding the power cuts, announcing that it is suspending studies in schools that were affected by yesterday’s electricity cut. Parents should check with their children’s schools to confirm.
