The Supreme Committee for Combatting COVID-19 met on Thursday (24 September) to update the public about public transportation and the aviation sector in Oman.

In the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Dr Ahmed Al Saidi said that 10 people passed away on Wednesday to COVID-19.

Al Saidi said that the recovery rate dropped from 94 per cent last week to 91 per cent this week “due to increase in cases”.

He stressed that using biometric fingerprint attendance system in offices is banned as per the Supreme Committee’s directives during the pandemic.

He stressed that the numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths have been increasing in the past three weeks.

“We have reached our limit to accommodate patients in our ICU in one day,” he said, explaining that the number reached 190. At the moment, there are 185 COVID-19 patients in ICU.
